I've got Sunshine...

Ok, so I don't feel like sitting down to blog everything that happened over the last few days. If you really want to know well just contact me directly and I'll be happy to share my stories. But I'll share a bit here and there of various things if I can't think of other things to write. For now, here a mini-story.

I sat down on the F train coming home from...not sure, probably work. I sit down and its a fairly empty train, maybe a dozen ppl in my compartment if that. This one black guy comes with a bag near me. I know he is going to ask for money before he says anything. I dont really like to give money on the train. If I have food I'll give that, but most of the ppl are scammers. I look at him briefly and look away. If you look too long you feel more obliged to give money. He is smiling a huge smile. And looks genuinely happy. He states aloud to the ppl in the compartment, he's going to sing a song and please give him some money since he is homeless.

He sounds very happy. And he starts to sing and I don't know how to describe it. It wasn't the most amazing singing ever, though it was very good, but he sang with a smile and energy and his joy was contagious. I glance up quickly and look at him a couple times while he sings. I can't help it. I notice the girl sitting across from me. I catch her eye and see she is also smiling now. He finishes his song. I gave him some money. For the smile and happiness he brought, I probably underpaid him. I should have watched his entire performance as well. Oh well. I had that song stuck in my head for awhile afterwards too. It goes a little something like this:
grr...can't get the formatting right....dah well
I've got sunshine
On a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside,
I've got the month of May.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)
I've got so much honey
The bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song
Than the birds in the trees.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)
Ooooh, Hoooo.
Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
I don't need no money,
Fortune or fame.
I've got all the riches, baby,
One man can claim.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)
Talkin' bout my girl.
I've got sushine on cloudy day
With my girl.
I've even got the month of May
With my girl.

I sang that songwhen I was in my high school's jazz vocal choir. It certainly is a sweet song...and also reminds me of that movie with macauley culkin.
